Help us make a prayer flag that we will take to the Kalachakra in Ladakh!

Come and share your prayers and blessings

for the benefit of all beings!

This is an Invitation to share the mighty blessings of The Kalachakra

(great wheel of time) with our communities. Huw-Wyn (founder of Wildheart & Into The Wild) and Ramsay (founder of Visions channel & local filmmaker) are taking a prayer flag to this years Kalachakra in Leh Ladakh.

Our prayer prayer flag will be made up from all of the prayers and intentions of people from our own community that we will fly and get blessed at the Kalachakra, high in the Himalayas. To find out how to get involved, click here!

The Kalachakra(great wheel of time) is the largest and most powerful initiation that His Holiness the Dalai Lama offers as a means for world peace and as a great blessing to the world. It is said that the teachings come from the land of Shambhala and is attended by over 100,000 yogis, monks, nomads and lay people. It was only given once in a lifetime by previous Dalai Lamas but was prophesied to be most beneficial during the great time of crisis when the world is in danger. That time is now!

We are taking our prayers and intentions from our own wider community which will carry two purposes. The first is for our own communities intentions to join the wishes and prayers of the Kalachakra, and the second is to receive the blessings of the Dalai Lama and this ancient initiation for our prayers so that we may bring them back and fly them at our own community events such as ‘Into The Wild’, Zu Studios, Wildheart Gathering’ and other community events such as seasonal festivals, ceremonies and rituals.

We also thought it would be great to make a film of the journey and interview Lamas, Traditional healers and visit monasteries to share the message from Ladakh and the Kalachara as a means to benefit all beings. This film will be shown for free to everyone in our community upon our return. We will also organise public screenings based on donations where all money raised will go to The Yuthong Foundationwhich is run by Amchi Smanla, a 7th generation Tibetan doctor & the Bee leaf project, a local charity in Sussex run by friends who help to promote natural beekeeping and are helping bees survive.

We now have two weeks to organise making the prayer flag and raise enough funds for us to go there and make the film. We don’t need to raise much, but we need to do it quickly as we only received the invitation at the summer solstice. The idea is that if people each sponsor a prayer flag, we can raise enough to help make this happen.

You can either make your own prayer flag, or tell us what prayers you would like to share and we can create one for you. The prayers can be for world peace, to stop fracking, for someone who is ill or someone close who has died, anything that shares a positive wish with the intent of compassion and raising the spirits and holistic health of our community.

Over the next two weeks we will be receiving individuals prayers that will be stitched onto the prayer flags on Wednesday 9th July, a few days before flying out to the Himalayas. The community prayer flag will be made at Zu Studios in Lewes and we are inviting all members of our community to come and join in stitching it together, singing songs and chanting, praying and meditating, laughing and sharing all your joys and highest wishes for our planet and all of us here.

All these intentions will come along on the prayer flag and be carried to the Kalachakra high in the Himalaya where they will be received and blessed and then returned for the benefit of our community, creating a binding connection between an ancient culture that has practised peace, compassion and great respect for the earth for thousands of years and a new community that desires to do the same.

About the Kalachakra -

This Kalachakra is the 33rd ever to be given and is also the most auspicious so far, especially as a means to receive blessings for peace, compassion and clarity for communities across the world to come together and fight for this wild beautiful earth. This year it is in the kingdom of Ladakh on the Indian/Tibetan border.
